ITINERARY – Anzac Day Budget Tours

Day 1 – 24th Meeting and Departure to Gallipoli

Meeting point at Obelisk in Sultanahmet area (old City)  Istanbul 07:30 we depart for the Gallipoli peninsula where we will enjoy a BBQ lunch at Kabatepe before a short orientation tour of the WW1 battlefields of Gallipoli visiting Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial and ANZAC Cove if accessible. After the tour we head straight to the site of the dawn service to get a good spot for the long night ahead. Overnight ANZAC Cove
Don’t forget your sleeping bags, warm clothes, wet weather gear and torches because Gallipoli is still as dark and as cold today as it was 1915 when our ancestors landed. Please bring your hat, sunscreen and good walking shoes. We will stop at one of the super market for shopping about food and beverages

Day 2 – 25th April ANZAC Day Commemorations at Gallipoli

Awake before sunrise to the ANZAC Dawn Service. We become aware of the almost deafening silence as we commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day. We attend the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services before a late afternoon drive back to Istanbul, End of Anzac Day Budget Tours.

Important Notice:

Please bring a day pack for carrying things with you overnight at Anzac Cove and the next day in Gallipoli as once you put your main luggage on the coach on the morning of the 24th in Istanbul you will not have chance to access it again until arriving back in Istanbul on the evening of the 25th. Your main luggage will be securely locked away in the coach overnight. Please also note that the weather in Anzac Cove overnight can get very cold so we suggest you bring sleeping bags, blankets and warm clothing for this stay and even a wet weather jacket in the event that it rains.

Important Information:

If you wish to arrive in Istanbul earlier than the 23rd or stay longer than the 26th then we can arrange pre & post tour accommodation for you although we have limited availability of this. The cost of this is per person 55 € for a Double/Twin/Triple or 85 € for a single room. Please indicate that your requirement while booking the trip.
